28 WEEKS!! We have officially reached the third (and last) trimester! I feel like so much has changed and happened so let’s jump into it! Be sure to check out our casual 27 week bumpdate video
SECOND TRIMESTER RECAP!!
The second trimester was exactly what everyone describes it as… the “honeymoon” trimester. After feeling icky and exhausted the first trimester, you reach the second trimester and your energy comes back, you start feeling better, you start showing a little bump FINALLY! And! People probably know at this point that you are pregnant. It’s such a fun trimester. Everything begins to seem so real. My favorite parts of this trimester were
Announcing pregnancy. I announced our pregnancy at 13 weeks and it was the hardest secret i’ve ever kept. It was such a fun and exciting moment when we could share it with everyone. It finally felt soo real.
Feeling baby boy kick. Those first few flutters are so magical.
Pregnancy glow. My hair looks nicer, my skin got better, and boobs got bigger. Everything about this trimester had me feeling like Queen B.
You finally start showing. FINALLY. I started noticing my bump right around 20ish weeks and i looove having a bump. I love wearing form fitting clothes to really accentuate the bump!
Once we found out the gender, we went a little nuts on buying baby clothes, toys, nursery decor, etc.. IT’S JUST TOO CUTE OK
Lastly, my appetite. I was just so hungry all the time and I did not mind it.
Okay and let me talk about the not-so-great things during the 2nd trimester.
Heartburn. I eat tums like they are candy at this point..
Sleep. Sometimes sleep is REALLY GOOD. But once you get that bump, it is really hard to get (and stay) comfortable. Which leads me to my next bullet point
THE CONSTANT PEEING. It’s comedic how often I have to pee.
27 WEEKS - Size of lettuce.
I haven’t had any cravings really. I’ve just been WAY more hungry and have been loving candy too. Which i’m not usually a huge fan of candy.
Sleep has been a hit or miss. Sometimes I sleep really well, and other nights, not so much.
I just had my doctor’s appointment on Friday and did my glucose testing. It’s honestly not as bad as people make it out to be.
So far I have gained a total of 11 pounds.
The weird thing that happened recently was I got a kidney stone!! You guys it was so painful. I woke up around 2 am with bad stomach pains and ended up waking James up. We were up for about 2 hours of me just crying and in pain until it finally passed. It was a roougghhh night.
Alright, that about sums up my second trimester! One more to go baby!
